Avenue of the Giants
The river and the 31-mile Avenue of the Giants meander through the second-largest old-growth forest in the redwoods' 500-mile range. For some of the best areas to hike, try Founder's Grove, Gould Grove, or the Burlington Beach trail. There are also a few gift shops along the highway, where you can take home your very own Redwood burl. For more info, go to www.campingfriend.com/RiversEdgeRVPark-CA.
